Jessie Rende ‘11 (198) becomes VMI Powerlifting’s first female to win USAPL Collegiate Nationals - Jessie Rende ‘11 became the first woman in VMI history to win a USAPL Collegiate National Championship in the 198lb. weight class.  In only her second meet ever, Rende recorded personal best lifts of 418lb. squat, 242lb. bench press, and 363lb. deadlift totaling 1023lbs. en route to the title. She improved an enormous 380lbs. from her previous total earlier recorded last December.

Jessie is currently training for 2010 USAPL Women’s Nationals which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio during 21-23 May 2010.  She will be competing for a spot on the Women’s USA Junior National Team and an opportunity to compete at IPF Junior Worlds to be held in the Chech Republic in September.
