VMI Powerlifting’s Coach - Monte Sparkman (SHW) squatted 1,000lbs. at the SPF Battle in the Valley on 5 September 2009 in Salem, VA.  He totaled a top 10 total (2,200lbs.)  Sparkman placed first in his weight class and also garnered Best Lifter.

VMI Powerlifting Qualifies Seven Lifters for USAPL Collegiate Nationals!!! - Those lifters who qualified are: Lee Hafkemyer, Owen Trotman, Robert Stockman, Ben Ashooh, Jessie  Rende, John Rivas, and Sharif Gray.  VMI Powerlifting will be competing in the 2010 USAPL VA Open on 27 February and looks to added to the list of already qualified lifters.  Congratulations on a job well done!!!
